Here Goes Nothin'...

*Writers note: I am writing this at 2am with somewhat scattered thoughts so bear with me... :)

Ahh my first blog entry... do I wax intellectual and philosophical about the changes happening in my life right now? Should I write about the scary new road that lay before me? Naaaah! It's exciting and invigorating! It's a new chapter in my life and I couldn't be happier. I am positive but realistic but most of all, fortunate. Fortunate to have the love of my life and her support in all this. She's my best friend, my biggest fan and cheerleader... and so much more.

Aww man, I am getting all squishy with all this...

SO, I said farewell to my cushy job at Blizzard Entertainment... "yikes" you say? Yeah, I would be inclined to agree with that sentiment. Off to pursue the delightful (and treacherous) world of illustration for children's books I go! I spent 4 wonderful years there and made some great friends. I am mostly positive on my experience there. Not every job is gonna be 100% perfect. Over the past year or so I have found my happiness in what I was always happiest - drawing cute and weird things.

It just kept going and evolving into something I could see as I book. I know, lots of people say that, but I just know it! I feel it in my bones! I can see it in each new illustration I create for it. There's gotta be something to it - it just  feels special! Aww well... so here goes nothing... my new website to promote my endeavors and find work, a new blog to chronicle my efforts, twitter, facebook, instagram, and every other social networking site under the internet's sun... and plans, oh I've got plans and lots of them. I will meet rejection and I like to think I am prepared but, I know it's gonna sting. You can't make an omelet without having some eggs broken on your head.

...wish me luck!
